Arttu Brummer (1891-1951) was one of the most important and internationally significant background figures of Finnish design and headed the original Design Museum from 1927 to 1951. With his ideology of design, Brummer was an exceptional figure for Finland during the 1930s with his preference for Art Deco and the classicism of the 1920s instead of functionalism.
